Discussion Leaders: Donald Chace, Pediatrix Analytical and Tony Yeung, Fox Chase Cancer Center
Clinical Diagnostics is a vast field of interest to many. The Clinical diagnostics session of CPSA2012 will provide exciting perspectives of prominent contributors from a Reference Laboratory, an academic CLIA laboratory, and a service provider with a novel technology. Alan Wookey of Labcorp will present how Companion Diagnostics is quickly becoming a path towards fulfilling the promise of personalized medicine. Andy Hoofnagle of the University of Washington will discuss the state of the art of mass spectrometry-enabled measurement of proteins in clinical samples. Steve Hofstadler of IBIS Biosciences will describe the PLEX-ID approach of combining PCR and mass spectrometry in the high-throughput high-specificity applications of molecular testing. These areas of innovation, and others, in future Clinical Diagnostics promises a bright future for patient care.
